The Montenegrin Association of Oncologists and Hematologists was founded on October 19, 2023, in Podgorica. The founders of the association are : Prof. Dr. med. Nadežda Basara, Dr. med. Vanja Karađinovć, Dr. med. Marija Stolić, and Dr. med. Milena Dapčević. The president of the association is Dr. med. Milena Dapčević. 

The association's objectives include organizing and uniting oncologists and hematologists, as well as physicians from other specialties working in the field of oncology and hematology. Standardizing work in centers treating oncological and hematological patients and spreading awareness among both medical and non-medical audiences in these areas are also among the association's goals.

The activities of the association will involve introducing new procedures in the treatment of oncological and hematological patients. Collaboration with institutions within the healthcare system and the public of Montenegro, as well as other countries, to improve the healthcare system in Montenegro, is another objective. Additionally, raising public awareness about oncological and hematological diseases, planning public campaigns and events, and continuous work on the prevention of malignant diseases will be pursued.
